It’s a fact that almost very few people on this planet are still using Messages app as their primary mode for communication. After the introduction of WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and SnapChat, Messages have become an old relic. On the other hand, the technology has not been extinct. When you don’t have an internet connection, Messages are always there to your rescue.
There are many Cydia tweak related to stock Messages app and we are mentioning one of such tweak here. The tweak is called “Callback for Messages” and it is available for free from Cydia’s ModMyi repo. The tweak adds a Call button to the incoming message notification.
This will let you call the sender directly from the notification screen even if your iPhone is locked. All you will need to do is to swipe left the notification and you will get the “Call” button. You won’t need to enter your passcode or launch the Phone app as well.
In case you have missed the notification, you can swipe down the Notification Center and then swipe again on the message from the sender to get the “Call” button. The tweak is very small in size and also has very few preferences under Settings app.
After you install the tweak, head to Settings app and then to preferences section of Callback for Messages tweak. By default, the tweak is toggle ON and you will not need to do anything. In case, you have themed your iPhone then you can change the background color of the “Call” button to match your theme.
Apart from that, you can also change the label from “Call” to anything you wish. Even though the tweak is very small in size, it supports all 39 standard iOS languages. So if you are not a native English reader you can easily have the “Call” button in your regional language.
