Apple has launched its two flagship models, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with bunch of new exciting features. One of such features is untethered “Hey Siri” option. That means you will no longer need to long press Home button on iPhone 6s/6s Plus. Instead, just speak out “Hey Siri”.
In any other iPhone apart from 6s series, this feature is available only when you have your iPhone in charging. There isn’t any practical logic behind giving this feature only in charging mode. It seems Apple wants to make their users addicted to this new feature and compel them to upgrade to its flagship series.
Use Hey Siri Hands Free without Being Connected to Power on Any iPhone Running iOS 9
If you do not want to burn a hole in your pocket for this feature, then you will need to Jailbreak your device and install a Cydia tweak. The tweak enables untethered “Hey Siri” option on any iPhone running iOS 9. If you have not Jailbroken your device yet, follow our article on how to Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu tool for Windows.
Once you have Jailbroken your device, you will need to install a Cydia tweak called “UntetheredHeySiri”. The tweak is available for free on BigBoss repo, which will be installed by default when you Jailbreak your iOS 9 device.
Before you rush to install this tweak, make sure you have enabled Hey Siri option from Settings → General → Siri. After enabling, complete the Siri set-up process, and after that, install the tweak and restart your device. Now watch out before you speak, as Siri will always listen to what you speak.
