YouTube is used widely on iPhone and iPad to watch videos, but there are times when we need to work on other apps simultaneously. When you switch to any other app from YouTube, the video automatically pauses.
You may need the audio to follow instructions, or it can just be a song you wish to listen to in background.
Ideally, YouTube does not allow background playing option, but this is possible if you have a Jailbreak device. If you have not Jailbroken your device yet, you can follow the instruction on how to Jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu tool for Windows.
In case you face any error or issue while Jailbreaking, here’s the guide on how to resolve common iOS 9 Jailbreak problems. Once you have successfully Jailbroken your device, all you need to do is install a Cydia tweak called YouTubed.
Before you rush to download YouTubed tweak from Cydia, make sure you have updated the PreferenceLoader from Cydia. Once you have done that, simply install YouTubed tweak from Cydia. After installing, launch the Settings app from home screen, scroll down a little and toggle on the YouTubed option.
For non-Jailbroken device, there is another trick that can do the same job. You will need to use Safari browser. Refer this a detailed article to play YouTube video in Background using Safari browser.
That’s it; you can now continue YouTube videos in background with this tiny little tweak.
