Everyone tends to install tons of apps on their iPhone or iPad, which sometimes makes it hard to search among them. There’s not native feature in iOS 9 to sort out these apps alphabetically. You’ll need to manually drag and drop each app to arrange them. That’s a pretty hectic thing to do if you have a large number of apps and games installed.
If you have Jailbroken your iPhone or iPad with iOS 9, then the things are quite simple with AppSort Cydia tweak. The tweak is freely available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. As of now, the tweak is compatible only with iOS 9, so don’t install it if you are running on any earlier version of iOS.
After you install the tweak, you’ll need to set an Activator gesture to invoke the tweak. This can be done from the preferences section in Settings app. There are pre-defined sorting options to suit a normal user. But if you are an advanced user, you can create your own sorting script by studying the documentation given with in the tweak’s preferences.
Apart from sorting apps alphabetically, you can also sort them by badges, color brightness, hue, random, and many other ways. My personal favorite is sorting the apps alphabetically. That’s because having a high number of apps, I can know which page to scroll to reach my app if it is sorted alphabetically.
AppSort is surely a great tweak with some highly useful features. It is certainly recommended to download it, as most of us would love to sort things as per their needs. Above all, having these features for free is an icing on the cake.
