When we talk about stock folders on the iPhone or iPad, the only thing we can do is tap it and launch the app we need. There isn’t much more than that in the iOS ecosystem, in regards to the folders on the Home Screen. This is when you need a Jailbroken iPhone/iPad and a Cydia tweak like SwipyFolders to spice things up.

SwipyFolders is a newly launched Cydia tweak available on BigBoss repo. The tweak is completely free and it adds a bunch of customization options to the folders on your iPhone/iPad Home Screen. Initially, you’ll need a little time to get acquainted with the gestures, but later on, you’ll use it like a pro.

With the tweak installed, you can perform certain functions using the gestures on the Home Screen folder. The gestures include single tap, double tap, swipe up, short hold, and 3D Touch. Each gesture can do different things, depending on your preferences. Just for an instance, 3D Touch on folder icon can directly open shortcut menu of the first app in the folder.

This isn’t the main course; you can also assign different actions with these pre-defined gestures to get the most out of your iPhone Home Screen folders. In addition, inside preferences, you can do a lot of customization. That said, you can also assign the first app in the folder as the folder icon, which makes the Home Screen look more interesting.

The tweak isn’t for someone who has just one or two folders on their iPhone Home Screen. Instead, the tweak is quite useful for people who have a bunch of apps allocated in many folders across the Home Screen. On top of that, the tweak is completely free, so you can at least give it a try. Lastly, the tweak is compatible only with iOS 9.
